It is all booked, the cost of the flight with all the hidden charges has increased the cost to £74 per head.
The total cost will be £129 plus fuel, food and drink. (£55 for James who we will meet in Ireland)

 

So the check list is:-

1)       Give Martyn a check for £129 payable to Martyn Everitt

2)       Check you have a valid passport

3)       The flight cost includes one stowed piece of luggage, under 15kg (there are big fees if you are over)

4)       We have not paid for travel insurance, if you feel the need to take it out you need to organise this, if you have your own bring the papers with you

 

The detailed itinerary is as follows:-

 

Thursday 2nd October 2008.

19:00 Martyn checks everyone in on line, this saves £4 each booking in fee

19:30 Meet up at Scout HQ, Travel to Gatwick airport, South Terminal, are there any volunteers to give us a lift (9 of us)?

20:00 Book in luggage + refreshments

21:45 Ryanair flight 1185 (Flights cost £74 per person)

23:10 Arrive Shannon Airport

23:30 Pick up 2 x Zafira (or similar) cars from Hertz (approx. £70 per car)

Drive to Limerick 14miles (20mins)

Meet James Camis at Limerick accommodation, or pick him up on the way.

24:00 Book into Travelodge Hotel Limerick, 10 people in 3 rooms, each room will probably have a double bed and a single, so you have been warned! (cost £15 per head)

 

Friday 3rd October

Breakfast

Open to suggestions, the map below shows some possible routes, the proposal is-

Drive to Macgillycuddy’s Reeks 89 miles (2 hours)

Climb one of the mountains, possibly Purple Mountain (2,739ft)

Return to Black Valley Youth Hostel a few miles down the road, book in (Cost £31 per person for two nights)

Evening drive 5 miles to local pub, Kate Kearneys Cottage, live music & food, suggest we book a table in advance

Walk or drive back?

 

Saturday 4th October

Suggest we walk from Hostel up over the hills but option is to drive somewhere and walk, see map

Sunday 5th October

Breakfast

08:30 Depart for Shannon, 2hr 35min drive

Drop James Cams off somewhere

? Get someone in Crowborough to book us in on line to save £4 per head ?

11:00 return cars and book in

13:05 Depart Shannon to Gatwick Ryanair Flight 1182

14:30 Gatwick arrival

Lift back to Crowborough, volunteers please?

 

Relaxing Sunday evening with the family reminiscing or sleeping!
