Explorer Diary

The Explorer Scout contact is Martyn Everitt - District Explorer Scout Commissioner (DESC)
The Explorer Scout Administrator contact is Rob Burdon - District Explorer Scout Administrator (DESA)
Explorers are aged between 14 and 18 years, there are three Explorer units Avery Explorers, Tullis Explorers and 272 Explorers

Avery Unit meets at Wadhurst Scout HQ on Thursdays 7:30pm to 9:30pm,contact Anthea Beetlestone or Trish Madden

Tullis Unit meets at Crowborough Scout HQ on Wednesdays 8pm to 10pm, contact Ade Morris, Sam Coates or Rupert Lomax

The 272 Unit is meeting at Buxted Scout HQ on Tuesday Evenings from 7.30pm - 9.30pm, contact Eddy Mower or Caroline Sharp

The District also has a Hunt Young Leader Explorer Unit, while most members are also members of the above Explorer Units it enables young people 14-18 years old to remain within Scout Groups as a Young Leader. Contact Ade Morris for details or go onto their Hunt website.

There are also Explore Units that meet at Adamswell, Black Sheep Unit contact Chris Morris and at Broadstone Warren.

SSAGO Student Scout and Guide Organisation If you are going to College or University this Summer make sure you join SSAGO

When Explorers have their 18th Birthday most celebrate by taking out a Leader Warrant and join the SAS, so that they can continue the adventure and complete their Gold DofE!

A large number of the Explorers achieve their Bronze, Silver and God Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards.
