Crowborough won the competition in 1980 the team was Merlin Beedell, Martin Dove (Big Bird) and Andrew Beveridge, in those days teams of 3 entered.

"With Martin Dove (who shone like the star I am sure he is now) and Andrew Beveridge. I think the prize was a Trangia stove - but martin thought that was not fair, so he exchanged it for 3 camping mats - so we all had a 'prize'!
